The Present Mother : The First Six Months

A “real mother” is the source of a “bond”, meaning the mental connection between a baby and the mother. The bond is the determining factor for the future of the child, and the time of crisis in building a secure attachment is the period from birth to age 3.

When my wife gave birth to my daughter “Jidrid” on November 10, 2025, I had the desire to create a photo that conveyed the connection between the baby and the real mother under the project name “Relationship: Real Mothers”. This exhibition presents part of the work in the first six months of the relationship.

"The Present Mother" is the starting point of "Attachment," which refers to the psychological connection between an infant and its mother. Attachment is a critical factor that shapes a child's future, and the critical window for building a "secure attachment" is from birth to 3 years of age.
