In today's society, family institutions are often regarded as spaces of warmth and happiness, but in reality, many families face problems and conflicts that are hidden behind a mask emblazoned with a smile, just like the host's family. Although the conversation and facial expressions seem normal, they are actually filled with wounds that are deeply ingrained in the heart. The nostalgia that is mixed with fear makes it not easy to come back face to face with the past, and this photo set is not just a family photo.
A simple set, but a story conveyed through my own eyes, it reflects the complex relationships in the family that are often overshadowed by the illusion of perfection. Over the course of time, I have realized that pain often has its reasons, but what makes it even more torturous is not letting go. Maybe even the present will not go as we wish, even if it cannot be reversed in the past or make everything perfect. The truth may be cruel, but it is what we have to accept because in the end,The image we see may just be a reflection of our thoughts rather than the reality that it is. It is we who created this abyss, the masked one, to conceal our vulnerabilities and the one who confines ourselves in the created safe space. But maybe when one day we dare to face it, we will discover that happiness is not about grasping an image that cannot be realized, but about accepting and letting go of the past that is holding us back.
